Christmas Cards

We love photo cards for Christmas. It makes at least one thing a little more simple during this busy season. This year we are going to try Shutterfly. With a new baby this is going to be our Christmas card and our baby announcement card all in one. Last year we got a great family picture and used that for our Christmas card, this year with the baby we have not been able to get a family picture so I'm going to try and do a montage of pictures. I have been looking at all the Christmas card websites and thought that Shutterfly would be a good place to go this year, since they have a great promotion where you can get 50 free Christmas cards if you post about it on your blog. A friend of mine had a great idea to ask people for their help in picking her Christmas card. I think that is a really good idea, but I don't have enough time for that so maybe next year. William told me the other day that only turtles have the name Peter, so we needed to call baby Peter something else. I asked him what and we decided that turtle would be a good nickname. So Peter Robert Gaulke is now known as "Turtle", to William only.

So we went to the free wading pool by our house one day and we were the first ones there! But soon after we got there 1 bus showed up, then another and another. A total of 4 buses full of kids showed up and this was what the pool looked like once everyone was in. Not much wiggle room. The kids still loved it!

We have a little turtle sand box in our back yard but over the summer it has been left open and has gotten a little water in it. The other day the boys thought it would be a great place for them to swim and our pet turtle.

Amazing Mike!

In January a friend at Mike's work said she was going to run in a half marathon, to her suprise Mike said he would run it with her. So on April 17th Mike's 31st birthday he ran 13.1 miles in under 3 hours. I am so grateful I got to be there to share the experience with him, I felt so much love for him and excitment that he set and kept this amazing goal.

It was Mike's Birthday last week and Edwards with week. Mike is now 30 and Edd is now 1, so since they were big days we had a suprise party. Here are some of the fun pictures. Mike and I went to Taylors Falls first and had a fun time hiking around. Edward loved the cake!!!

This is my brother Brenton and my Mom, the day my brother went through the temple for the first time. Brenton is the oldest boy in our family that is a church member and therefore is the first in the Olson and Loerzel families to ever serve a mission. We are so excited to get all his letters and hear about all the he is doing to share the gospel with the people of mexico. We all love him so much and think that he is doing just great things.

The New House

So here is our new house!! It was My-Rachel Grandmother's house. It has great ceilings, plaster walls, and hard wood floors!! We are still trying the get everything in order, which I will be happy if it is done in less than a year. We love it! One tip if you move into a house that you already have history with it can get kind of emotional or maybe that is the postpartum stuff?!?!

Ok, so things have been a little crazy!! In a nutshell since March, I have had 3 close family members die, a birth of a baby that the Dr thought was going to be to small and cleaning things out of my Grandma's house so that we could buy it and move in. With all this we have borrowed a digital camera and do have pics to post but have not had the time or energy. I will be adding pics this week!! So keep checking back for them, of the new house, Willie, Eddie, and maybe Mike and I. Thanks for the help we have gotten from so many people! We love you!!

We went to Buffalo, NY for my cousin's wedding!! Congrats Dan and Sheila!! While there we were able to go to Niagara Falls and Palmyra. It was all really great, to be with famliy and see so many beautiful places. The only thing while in NY, we lost our camera. So there will not be any pictures on the blog for a while, sorry!

So we have had a pet turtle since Labor day last year 2007. Last Sunday we found him dead in his cage. We were very sad, I should say that due to my current state and all that has happened in our lives over the last couple of months I cried like a baby. William was so very cute with his little turtle, he didn't have a name just "Turtle". We will miss you little guy!!

So I have realized that I don't think I told anyone via our blog that we are having our second baby. Another boy is due in about 4 weeks. He is a little small so they are watching him closely, but everything should be ok. No pictures of my pregnant body but lots of ultrasound pictures!!

In memory of my Dad!!

So I have not posted anything in many weeks!! Sorry life gets a little crazy when you lose someone as close to you as your father. My dad was diagnosed with Liver Cancer just a few months after Mike and I got engaged in 2004. He worked really hard to fight it off, but 6 months ago started to lose the battle. I remember growing up and hearing all of my friends tell me how "cool" my dad was, my answer was that they didn't have to live with him. I used to follow him around as a kid and wanted to be just like him, I turned out more like him than I ever realized. I have a stronger testimony after this that the Lord really does lighten our burdens in times of need. I am so very greatful for the testimony of eternal families that my parents helped me build!!

So to get ready for the baby I have been organizing the baby things. William found the Nuks and bottles and thinks that they are pretty fun. I think we might have a problem when the baby come with William wanting to be a baby too. This is a picture of one of the things he likes to do with the Nuks. He runs around with them in his mouth like this and drools all over. Mike thinks I should take them away but I just think it is so cute I can't. What a fun guy!!!

On Valentine's Day a friend had a dance party for the kids. William really let me down, the little dancing man didn't come out the whole time we were there. He read books and checked stuff out instead. It sure was a lot of fun playing with our friends!!

Ok, so I had my 20 week Ultrasound last week. I talked with the Doctor today and found out that because of the measurements of the baby they have moved my due date back 3 weeks. So instead of April 18th it is now May 5th. I not very excited about this. Am I just being silly? I will go back to the Doctor in about 2 weeks and then in about 4 weeks have another 21-23 week Ultrasound. I don't know why this is such a big deal to me, but I am really bummed out. Please give me some input!! Thanks all!

So anyone who knows the Olson family knows that we love the turtle races in Perham, MN. Well over all the years (over 25 yrs) we have had friends and family in these races. We have even had 7 or 8 out of 10 people in one race and still not won. Well this year changed it all!!! Brent's friend Eric and Rachel were in one "heat" and they tied. The next "heat" had William, Brent, Mark, and his friend Joe, Brent and William tied in that heat. So Eric, Rachel, William, and Brenton went on to one of the 3 semi-final heats. William won the semi-final and then went on to win 2nd place in the finals!!!! This is really big news, the Richards of Utah and Burts of ID will attest to!!!
